This small tree was pulled together after I received a faux marriage certificate from a GoONS Marriage Challenge in the Romford Registration District for Ezekiel Gammon who married Mary Ann Coulter in 1841.

The tree currently starts with Stephen Gammon (who I have named the tree after). I need to search the parish registers to find Stephen’s baptism and take the tree further back in time. Hopefully in the future I will also find families from more recent times that will connect in.

This tree is named after the fellow Guild of One Name Studies researcher that first got in contact with me about Mary Gammons who married John Howes in King’s Ripton in 1838.

The tree currently starts with her father Robert Gammon. Although I found a few siblings for Mary online (on the IGI), there are no King’s Ripton marriages included in the IGI. I need to extend my index with Parish Registers from Huntingdon (especially King’s Ripton) before I can take this family back further.

This tree is named after the researcher that first got in contact with me about his family.

The tree currently starts with Nicholas Gammon who was born about 1795, and married in 1820 in Halifax, North Carolina, USA. I have not yet started to create an index of American Gammons, so none of the sources here have been checked.

It is assumed this family originated in the UK and we need to try and track down where. We have already done a DNA test of someone from this family and found no match to my Gammon family, so there is probably more than one source of the Gammon name.

This tree is named after the researcher that first got in contact with me about Victoria Alice Gammon (nee Shipway).

The tree currently starts with George Gammon who was born in 1816 in Rye, Sussex, England. I need to extend my index with Parish Registers from Sussex before I can take this family back further.

Victor F Gammon and his wartime escape exepriences also look like they are worth exploring further.

This tree is named after the researcher that first got in contact with me about Capt. Richard S Gammon. The tree currently starts with George Gammon. I need a copy of George and Lydia’s marriage certificate to find out who George’s father is and then find them in the 1881 census. I also need to confirm that Capt. Richard S Gammon is the son of Richard George Gammon. If this is so, there is a lot to find out about the Captain’s wartime exploits including the invention of a hand-grenade called the Gammon bomb.
